Itinerary

You'll arrive in Bangkok where your driver meets you at the airport with a nameplate. From there, it's a straightforward transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to settle in and shake off travel fatigue.

Meeting your guide at 7:30 AM, you'll head to Railway Track Market near Mae Klong station, then take a long-tail boat through canals to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market where you can browse local goods and grab Thai food. After lunch, you'll visit three Bangkok temples: Wat Traimit (has the world's largest solid gold Buddha), Wat Pho (featuring a 45-meter Reclining Buddha), and Wat Benjamabophit (the marble temple).

Following breakfast at your hotel, you have the morning to explore Bangkok on your own terms. Your driver picks you up mid-morning for your airport transfer. You'll fly to Chiang Mai, get met there, and check into your hotel.

Your driver takes you from Chiang Mai to Mae Wang, arriving at Karen Eco Lodge around 10:00 AM. In the morning you'll do a half-day jungle trek into Mae Wang National Park to visit a Karen Village. After lunch, there's a bamboo rafting tour on the Mae Win River, then you'll check in and have free time before dinner.

Starting with lodge breakfast, at 9:00 AM you'll begin an elephant experience where you feed, interact with, and bathe Asian elephants. You'll return for lunch, have time to explore the area, then participate in a Thai cooking lesson that becomes your dinner.

After breakfast you'll check out and head to Chiang Rai. You'll stop at Chiufong Tea Farm to see tea production, then Rai Cha 101 on Doi Maesalong. Later you'll reach Akha Mudhouse Maesalong village where you can swing, ride a tricycle, try on traditional Akha shirts, and spend time with local kids. You'll stay overnight and have dinner in the village.

Hotel breakfast followed by a welcome tea served in a traditional bamboo cup and a quick lesson in basic Akha words. You'll walk community trails through herbs and crops, learn how the Akha cook, and have a traditional Khantoke lunch. Afterward you'll make a bracelet from natural materials, say goodbye to the community, then head to Chiang Rai to visit the Blue Temple. You'll check in at your hotel with the evening free to wander the night market.

After hotel breakfast you'll visit the White Temple with its detailed design and symbolic features. Next you'll go to the Golden Triangle where Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos meet. The House of Opium provides history on the opium trade, and you'll get views from the hilltop over the Mekong River. Following lunch at a local spot, you'll visit a long-neck Karen tribe village to see their customs.

Breakfast at your hotel, then relaxed time until your guide picks you up for the flight back to Bangkok. Once you land, the afternoon and evening are open to wander the city, try restaurants, or just soak in the atmosphere.

Your driver will collect you from the hotel and take you to the airport for your departure flight home.
