RETURN: 19:00 ROUTE: HCM City – Cu Chi district – HCMC Itinerary: Begin your morning with a visit to the historic Independence Palace, also known as the Reunification palace, built on the site of the former Norodom palace. This iconic landmark of Ho Chi Minh City was designed by renowned architect Ngo Viet Thu. Continue seeing the beautiful structures from the French Colonial times such as the Notre Dame Cathedral, the historic Central Post Office. Followed by the remarkable site of the War Remnants Museum the museum has a vast display of the both the Indochina wars. Enjoy lunch at local restaurant. In the afternoon, depart for the famous Cu Chi Tunnel, located approximately one and a half hours from the city center. Upon arrival, before exploring the tunnels, you will watch a short introductory video explaining the construction of the tunnels and how the people survived in the harsh conditions during the war time. Then, spend your time to explore the remarkable underground tunnel network which features living quarters ,kitchens,with other martial facilities like storage room , weapons factories, field hospitals, and command centers that helping whoever lives inside the tunnels meet their basic needs. You also discover many hidden trap doors and defensive traps within the maze-like tunnels for security purposes during the war. Afterward, conclude your visit by tasting special tea and cassava, a simple food that sustained guerrilla fighters during the war. There will be time to relax or, for those interested, an optional opportunity to experience firing a real firearm at the shooting range.Return to Saigon. End trip.
